Family Fun Festival

7th Jan - 17th Jan @ Paihia and Waitangi

10 fun filled days for the family with lots of free activities. Organised by Business Paihia and supported by local businesses.

WEDNESDAY 7th

• Northland Age "Monster Mural Painting & Body Painting" - Post Office Paihia @10.30am - Everything supplied bring your creativity and old clothes and help us paint a MONSTER Mural. Art for all ages! More FM & Watties BBQ
• Department of Conservation "Pop The Pests Save the Rest!" - Paihia Village Green @ midday, fun and games with D.O.C. for all ages.

THURSDAY 8th

• Sport Northland "Toddle Waddle and Jumpathon" - Paihia Village Green @ 10.00am for the Toddle Waddle - under 5's. 11.00am Jumpathon 5 to 10 years. NEW this year with lots of fun equipment and activities to try.
• Story Telling, Paihia Library, Williams House 1.30 - 2.30 p.m.

FRIDAY 9th

• Waitangi Treaty Grounds Mystery Trail - Treaty Grounds. Anytime from 9.30am till 11.30am. Follow the signs to register by the Waka. A fun challenge for the whole family. Kids, please bring an adult.

SATURDAY 10th

• The Bay Chronicle "1km Kids Fun Run"; Ti Bay Beach @ 2.00pm. Meet by Coastal Kayakers, Waitangi Bridge for the warm-up. Kids must bring an adult! It is all about fun - run or walk the 1km along the beach. NEW this year - The real deal - race bibs, medals, prizes
• The Top Energy "Surf Safety" - Ti Bay Beach @ 3.00pm. Meet on the beach by the playground and get some skills in the water that will make sure you'll have fun and be safe during the warm summer months! Kids bring an adult. The More FM & Watties BBQ finishes off the days fun.

SUNDAY 11th

• The Rotary Club "Beach Dig" - Paihia Beach @ 11.30a.m. A fun event for kids up to 10 years of age. Heaps of fantastic prizes and the More FM & Watties BBQ
• 35 Degrees South "Jandal Throwing Competition" - Paihia Beach @1.00pm - NEW this year. Fun for all ages from 1 to 100! Just bring a jandal!
• Haven of History Garden Party 11.00am - 4.00pm, look for the signs, Marsden road near St. Pauls Church Fun, games, music, food, history trails, a wonderful way to spend the afternoon and be taken back in time. NEW this year.

MONDAY 12th

• Anne of Craicor "Wearable Arts" - Paihia Memorial Hall @ 9.30am. All Materials supplied, all ages of kids welcome. Feel free to bring extra materials and a pair of scissors. Make yourself a funky creation out of some weird and wonderful materials.
• Scavenger Hunt Wairoa Bay@ 2.00p.m. Join us for a scavenger hunt in and around the rock pools and surrounding area. NEW this year.

TUESDAY 13th

• Dianne Quinn Real Estate "Street Smart Funky Art chalk pavement drawing" - outside the Post Office @ 10.00am Your chance to show off your talent and entertain shoppers! Fantastic prizes for all age groups! Materials supplied. Judged by world famous photographer Frank Habicht!
• Hip Hop Workshop - under 12 years of age, Paihia School Marae from 1.00pm to 3.00pm. Take some expert instruction to improve your moves.

WEDNESDAY 14th

• Bay Beach Hire "Fun on the Green" - Paihia Village Green @ 10am, old fashioned games ...sack, 3 legged, wheelbarrow, egg & spoon races and more. Fun for all the family - Mums and Dads too. More great prizes and giveaways! More FM & Watties BBQ.
• Hip Hop Workshop - over 12 years of age, Paihia School Marae from 1.00pm to 3.00pm. Let the experts give you some hot tips.

THURSDAY 15th

• Paihia Dive HQ "Kids Fishing Competition" - register at Paihia Dive HQ on Williams Rd @ 9.30am. Fishing from 10.30am till 11.30am from Paihia Wharf. All sorts of prizes! Bring a hand line or rod, we supply the bait. Kids don't forget to bring an adult.
• Story Telling - Paihia Library, Williams House 1.30 - 2.30 p.m.
• Department of Conservation ≥Twilight Walk≈ - School Road to the Viewpoint. Meet at the school road entrance to the track @ 6.30pm for an enchanting twilight walk. A great family evening - kids please bring an adult.

FRIDAY16th

• Paihia Action World Challenge - Action World, 54 Puketona Rd. 9.30 registration, limit 20 places. 2 kids to one adult ratio in the park. Kids in the challenge gain free entry to the park, accompanying spectators need to pay the admission fee. A great family day. Appropriate for 7 yrs +.
• The Mako Beach Bar ≥Talent Contest≈ - Village Green @ 3pm (if raining Paihia Memorial Hall) Are you the new Paihia Idol? Strut your stuff or just bring a picnic and relax. A fun event with some great top prizes, plus a prize for every one who gives it a go!!

SATURDAY 17th Summer Festival Grand Finale!

• MORE FM Sandcastle Competition - Paihia beach in front of St. Pauls Church,prizegiving @ 5.30 p.m. High tide is at 1.10pm. This annual event is an all time favourite!! All ages - Adults, Kids, Families, Mates. Anything goes! Use your hands or a bucket, a shell or a shovel , start building anytime you want!- build a racing car, mermaid, space ship, town, boat, bird, cake, Mickey Mouse - get sculpting - there are awesome prizes and giveaways!
